Over the years, Hollywood has treated Hasbro very well with the success of Michael Bay’s Transformers films. Heck, the last one, Age Of Extinction, was the top performing film of 2014, grossing over a BILLION dollars. It is no surprise that Hasbro appears to have interest in making a GoBots movie.

TFW2005 has come across documents that Hasbro really submitted to the United States Patent & Trademark Office for a new GoBots trademark under “distribution of motion pictures, ongoing television programs” and “Toys, games and playthings, namely, toy vehicles and accessories for use therewith.”
In the 1980s Tonka produced sentient robots that could transform, very much like the Transformers. They were known as GoBots. The even had a produced by Hanna Barbera produced animated series, “Challenge of the GoBots,” which ran from 1984 to 1985. The popularity of Transformers snuffed out the GoBots. In 1991, the rights to the GoBots were acquired by Hasbro when they bought out Tonka.
