Futurama has become a much-loved series due to its lively humor, fun science fiction setting, and relatable yet odd and quirky characters.

A new Futurama fan film from Cinema Relics is seeking to bring Fry, Leela, Bender, and the rest of the gang into live action, and from the first trailer you can see just how much work has gone into recreating the looks and characters from the show.

As soon as you see Leela’s lone eye target the center of the screen, you know you’re looking at something that took some genuine time and effort. Bender has been recreated to perfection, and characters like Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth also pop up throughout the new film.

While I doubt that every single Farnsworth nose hair was individually picked out (like the website says), if they were I probably wouldn’t be surprised. I’m all for CGI, but the practical effects here are superb, and we might have a wonderful Futurama live action translation on our hands.

There is no release date as of yet for Fan-O-Rama: A Futurama Fan Film, but we will keep you posted when one is announced. In the meantime make sure to check out the trailer, which is featured above.

The production consists of Dan Lanigan, Martin Meunier, Kody Frederick, Katie Lanigan, Andy Klimczak, Adam Cook, Leo Garza, Eric Diaz, Rob Paglia, and Nika Dunne.
