The series stars Lucas Till “as he creates a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening,” The Wrap reports. Notable EPs include Henry Winkler and James Wan. David Von Ancken directed the pilot.
MacGyver is one of six new series orders announced ahead of the CBS upfronts. Training Day, Pure Genius, and Bull join as dramas, and Man with a Plan starring Matt LeBlanc and The Great Indoors starring Joel McHale and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are new comedies coming to the network.
