Earlier today, ComicsPlus by iVerse Media announced that Thrillbent, Mark Waid’s publishing imprint for new creator-owned digital comics, has launched on their platform. The creative team behind Irredeemable and Incorruptible bring Insufferable to ComicsPlus, a story described as “a new tale of dark peril, high adventure, and a superhero family torn apart!””Mark Waid has been a digital innovator for a long time,” said iVerse Media founder and CEO Michael Murphey, “and I am literally ‘thrilled’ (pun intended) to be able to add Thrillbent to our ever growing library of comics. I can’t wait to see what they do next.””As enormous fans of iVerse and the fine folks who run the place–visionaries all–we at Thrillbent consider it an honor to partner up with them.” said Thrillbent co-founder Mark Waid. “Not only will they provide our various series to a whole new audience, we’re excited to work with iVerse on new ways to advance the digital comics medium in the months and years ahead.””I want to see this marketplace as full of healthy competition–of innovative and interesting ideas as possible,” Thrillbent co-founder John Rogers told ComicBook.com back in April 2012. “And if that means that this thing that we do utterly crashes and flames out but two years later somebody comes up with the right way to do it and says, ‘Yeah, I figured it out by looking at how MarkWaid.com laid down and died,’ that’s a win! That’s because it moved everyone twenty yards up the field, and that’s the goal here.”Looks like they’ve got some time on that one.You can check out the first issue here.ComicsPlus is available platform-wide and offers its library of digital comics on the iPhone, iPad, the Web and Android.
