Marvel Comics is teaming with espnW to illustrate the women’s sports site’s annual IMPACT25 list, counting down the most influential and prominent women athletes in sports.

Each athlete who makes the list will be honored with a drawing that illustrates their talents alongside one of Marvel’s heroes. Emanuela Lupacchino and Rachelle Rosenberg kick off the series of illustration by depicting U.S. Women’s National Team star Carli Lloyd side-by-side with Captain Marvel. “Marvel’s mission is to celebrate the hero’s journey — and espnW’s IMPACT25 is a uniquely incredible way to do that,” Sana Amanat, Marvel Director of Content and Character Development, said in a press statement (via EW). “Like our powerful heroes, the IMPACT25 have made a remarkable impression on the world and this is our salute to them. By merging this exceptional group of women with our mighty Marvel artists we are able to truly capture their super human feats in a program that brings together talent from on and off the field.”
The full 2015 IMPACT25 list and accompanying art will be released on Dec. 7 at espnW.com/impact25.
