The film will focus on the conflict between the hero He-Man, secretly Prince Adam of Eternia, and the villain Skeletor.
The fantasy toy line was popularized by an accompanying cartoon. Masters of the Universe was first adapted to film in 1987, with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
McG’s credits include a previous Sony reboot, Chalie’s Angels. The latest version of the Masters of the Universe script comes from the team of Alex Litvak and Mike Finch.
