There’s been a lot of talk lately about the potential of solo spinoff films from the X-Men franchise being made. When asked by Yahoo if a Magneto spinoff was a possibility, X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender seemed pretty confident that it was.”Yeah, I think it will happen,” said Fassbender (at about the 12:36 mark in the video below), “I think it should happen. I would be interested for sure.”Hugh Jackman mentions an already existing script to Fassbender, but Fassbender says that was from before X-Men: First Class. It is likely the script for the scrapped X-Men Origins: Magneto film.Magneto is currently enjoying solo success in the comic book realm with a recently launched Magneto series, written by Cullen Bunn with art from Gabriel Hernandez Walta.Fassbender will next appear as Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past, in which the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in theaters May 23.
