Actor Mitch Pileggi has confirmed via Twitter that he will reprise his role as former FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner in Fox’s revival of The X-Files.

This news won’t surprise many of you as David Duchovny let the cat out of the bag when he was on David Letterman’s talk show last month, but it is nice to see Pileggi making it official.
Skinner is a fan-favorite, known for being very stern, tough and fair with Agents Mulder and Scully. He appeared in all nine season of the show and both feature films.
