Though DC and Marvel Comics are breaking the piggy bank on their endless realities with events Convergence and Secret Wars later this spring, the bracket fever from the NCAA March Madness has our minds stuck on the tournament style crossover event.

Like we explained in our opening post (where you can vote on different battles), we’re leaving to you to choose the winners in our own cross-company tournament. We’re in throwing in a nifty secret prize for the players with a winning bracket. But enough chit-chat. It’s time to get in the super-powered paint with the first round’s combatants.
Marvel 2099
Stats: Set at the edge of this century, the world of 2099 may or may not be the future of the Marvel Universe we all know and love. Marvel 2099hosts a futuristic Heroic Age, with its own Spider-Man, Punisher, X-Men, and more. Of course, it also has its own versions of the rampaging Hulk, and Dr. Doom – who is more familiar than most may think.
Strength: With futuristic technology and a deep bench of heroes and villains, 2099 is a fan favorite for a reason. Future knowledge, advanced research, and history’s the most resourceful and powerful Dr. Doom are a force to be reckoned with.
Weakness: Ravage 2099? But honestly, many of the future’s heroes and villains are far too disorganized and disparate. Convincing them to all work together, even for their reality’s survival, might be too difficult a proposition.
Attilan
Stats: Attilan is the capital city of the Inhuman race. The Inhumans are a group of humans genetically modified by the Kree thousands of years ago, whose powers are only activated through exposure to the mysterious Terrigen Mists. And thanks to the Terrigen Bomb from “Infinity,” there are now thousands, if not tens of thousands, of active Inhumans with a variety of powers.
Strength: Sheer numbers, with power-sets that encompass everything from prehensile hair, to fire manipulation, to supersonic screams, mean the Inhumans can’t be discounted in any fight. Just the royal family is scary enough, let alone with thousands of faithful followers supporting them.
Weakness: While the Royal Family once controlled the core group of Inhumans with no real threats (outside the occasional lunatic brother or whatnot), there are now factions of Inhumans who don’t agree with the current regime. That infighting could sabotage any fight.
Who will proceed to the next stage: The royal Inhumans or the futuristic Avengers? Decide in the poll below!
