New Power Rangers Movie Has Found Its Director

The Wrap is reporting that Saban Brands has found the director they want to make their new Power Rangers film.

Dean Israelite, who director Paramount time-travel film Project Almanac, is said to be in negotiations to helm Lionsgate and Saban Films’ Power Rangers movie.

POWER RANGERS – The new movie promises to completely re-envision the Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.

The screenplay was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. They were previously credited for their work on X:Men: First Class, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe.

Power Rangers is expected to start filming later this year.
