If you are a fan of horror, then you will no doubt be familiar with The Ring. The 2002 remake was based off a cult Japanese horror film from 1998, and the adaptation brought the story back to the forefront of pop culture. The terrifying movie was praised by critics and fans thanks to Gore Verbinski’s direction and Naomi Watts’ performance. A sequel followed in 2005 known as The Ring Two, and a third installment is set to debut this year. Now, fans have received a new trailer for Rings, and it brings back the franchise’s iconic baddie.

That’s right; Samara is back, and she is looking creepier than ever.

“She does not forget. Samara is back with a new poster,” Paramount teased in a recent press release which contained a new poster for The Rings. “First you watch it. Then you die.”

Fans of the iconic horror franchise has been waiting for some time to see its latest installment. While The Rings Two debuted with less-than-stellar reviews, director Javier Gutierrez has stressed that Samara’s return will make fans excited. While Naomi Watts will not be part of Rings, Matilda Lutz will take over her mantle with ease. The actress will play the lead Julia, and the film will follow her as she and her boyfriend Holt watch Samara’s cursed film and become targets. However, this time around, the deadly baddie has some bigger plans in mind.

If you are curious about the timing of Rings, then you should know the movie will take place 13 years after the first two films. When Holt gets a hold of Samara’s tape, Julia sacrifices herself to save him from the wicked girl, but she learns there is a strange ‘movie within the movie’ that no other victims have seen before.

For now, fans are eager to see Rings and expect its release date to stay stable. The movie has had a few different premiere dates as Paramount Pictures have continued to move it. Originally, it was set to debut in November 2015 before it was moved to October 2016 and then February 2017. You can check ou the full theatrical poster in the gallery below.

“A new chapter in the beloved RING horror franchise. A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen beforeโ€ฆ”

Javier Gutierrez will direct the film while Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio star.

Rings will hit theaters on February 3, 2017.
