Orphan Black follows Sarah Manning, a British con artist who is unintentionally sucked into an international cloning conspiracy after watching a Canadian woman identical to her jump off of a train platform.
The show features a master-class performance by Tatiana Maslany, who plays both of the aforementioned roles, as well as dozens of others. As the show has developed, her characters have included an uptight soccer mom, a Californian stoner scientist, a Ukranian assassin, and countless more. Orphan Black has earned Maslany a myriad of awards, including an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2016.
Since its premiere in 2013, the show has amassed a rabid cult following, with fans eagerly dissecting and theorizing about the show’s ‘rabbit hole’ of canon. In recent years, the world of Orphan Black has expanded even further, with several tie-in comic series released by IDW. The newest comic miniseries, Orphan Black: Deviations, will explore alternate timelines centered around events on the show, and will be released starting in March of 2017.
With the upcoming release of Deviations, and of the final season premiere date, Orphan Black fans can expect some of the show’s many burning questions to begin to be answered.
