AMP! Comics for Kids announced earlier this week that they have acquired the rights to reprint paperback editions of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts for a new generation with a series of themed collections created especially for middle-grade readers. Each of the first two volumes is $9.99, and they’re both available for preorder on Amazon now. You can see what the publisher has to say about them below:Kicking off the series is Snoopy: Cowabunga! (September 2013), a collection of Peanuts strips that center around Snoopy’s adventures and his hilarious interactions with the kids in Charlie Brown’s gang. Next up is Charlie Brown and Friends (February 2014) which explores friendship in its many forms, from the curious relationship between Woodstock and Snoopy to Peppermint Patty’s enduring crush on Charlie Brown.Peanuts strips have been regularly collected in prestige-format hardcovers in the specialty market in recent years, but rarely given a mass-market treatment since Schulz died and the strip ended in 2000. A feature film adaptation of the strip is expected in 2015.
