The Warded Man is set in Earth’s distant future, when underground dwelling demons has pushed civilization back to the medieval times. The few remaining cities and settlements use ancient runes to repel the demons at night, but are unable to actually fight back against the demons.
However, a man named Arlen emerges from the desert, able to kill the demons with his bare hands thanks to strange runes tattooed on his skin. Joined by a herb gatherer and a fiddler, Arlen offers humanity a newfound hope…although not everyone is eager to join his crusade.
The Warded Man is the first book in the Demon Cycle, a series of books published by Harper Collins. To date, Harper Collins has published four books in the Demon Cycle, with a fifth book expected sometime in 2017.
