Robbie Amell will reprise his role as Ronnie Raymond in an upcoming episode of The Flash, but not as part of the hero known as Firestorm.

Amell will be playing the Ronnie Raymond of Earth 2, who – instead of joining with Dr. Martin Stein to become Firestorm – went on to become the villain known as Deathstorm, something we had anticipated a few months ago when a TV spot had aired.
“We are beyond excited to have Robbie back on The Flash,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “You can’t keep a good Firestorm down. Only this time, he’s back with a twist, a deadly Earth-Two version of our beloved Ronnie in the form of Deathstorm.”
In the DC Comics universe, Ronnie Raymond became Deathstorm after being resurrected during the events of Blackest Night. In the New 52 continuity, Martin Stein is the Deathstorm of Earth-3, and a member of the Crime Syndicate.
Raymond is still married to Caitlin Snow on Earth-2, though she has become the supervillain Killer Frost. Together, the two will surely present a challenge or Team Flash.
The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
