Cinnemax has found its cast for Outcast, the television adaptation of Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta’s latest Image comic.

Rounding out the cast is an ensemble of season television and film actors, The Hollywood Reporter notes, many of whom who have starred in recent television hits. The cast include Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl), Philip Glenister (Big School), Reg E. Cathy (House of Cards), Julia Crockett (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Wrenn Schmidt (Boardwalk Empire, and Kip Pardue (Ray Donovan).
Outcast follows Kyle Barnes (Fugit), a man who has suffered demonic possession almost his entire life. Not completely under the demon’s control, Barnes embarks on a mission to discover why the evil spirit has plagued him, and what he can do to finally rid himself of it. Along the way, Barnes befriends the hard-drinking and gambling Reverend Anderson (Glenister), who may hold the answers. The odd-couple will encounter Anderson’s gambling buddy Giles (Cathy), Barnes’ insane mother Sarah (Crockett), Barne’s psychiatrist sister (Holter) and her husband, Mark (Pardue).
Robert Kirkman is set to co-executive produce the series and write its pilot episode. Adam Wingard will direct the pilot episode. Outcast will the second television show based on a Robert Kirkman-co-created comic series. The other, of course, is his record-breaking The Walking Dead franchise, which is currently in its fifth season.
A release date for the Cinnemax series has not been announced yet.
