The first wave of panels for Silicon Valley Comic Con, a new convention being launched this year by Steve Wozniak, have been announced. The panels look to combine the worlds of pop culture and science/technology, with many topics like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange being explored through the eyes of a Quantum Physicist, or the author of The Martian talking with a NASA Engineer about how to actually get us to Mars.

SVCC will also bring actors like William Shatner and Alan Tudyk to the convention to talk about their careers, and Mythbusters‘ Adam Savage will sit in on more than one panel, discussing the convergence of science fact and fiction.
There’s still room for more panels, too. The call for speakers is open through February 8th. Please visit the SVCC panel submission page at www.svcomiccon.com/panels.
Silicon Valley Comic Con launches March 18-20, 2016 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Check out the full list of their first wave of panels below, and stay tuned for more news about the convention.

COMICS
Convergence of Technology and Social Media in Comics
Bret Blevins / Tim Blevins
Emmy Award winning animator and comic book artist, Bret Blevins, and comic book writer, Tim Blevins, will discuss the evolution of the comic industry and the recent impact of technology on it. Recent technology innovations and models, such as mobile computing, content streaming and social media present interesting opportunities to expand and rejuvenate the comic book experience. The audience will be encouraged to participate in the creation and evolution of this new type of “social comic.”
