The trailer has built an insane amount of buzz within merely a couple hours of being released. There’s a lot to choose from when you’re talking about best aspects of the footage, but here we’re going to talk about the Suicide Squad trailer’s best lines.

“You know what they say about the crazy ones…”

Jai Courtney hardly got a spotlight in the trailer but his look as Captain Boomerang commands the screen. Based on the cut of the trailer, he looks to Harley and says, “You know what they say about the crazy ones…” likely referring to the Joker whom Harley would love to talk about, even though, they’re all a little crazy.

“Huh?”

Harley’s apparent response to Captain Boomerang shows off her demeanor, in case popping gum or pumping her baseball bat like a shotgun wasn’t enough. She’s careless and Margot Robbie seems to have done a great job in the role.

“Maybe Superman was a beacon for them to crawl out of the shadows.”

Viola Davis as Amanda Waller couldn’t have been a more perfect casting choice. She is fantastic on How To Get Away With Murder and now she looks great as the Suicide Squad’s Commander. She refers to her villains as “the worst of the worst,” but goes on to refer to Superman and their abilities saying, “Maybe Superman was some kind of beacon for them to creep back from the shadows,” indicating that these characters have existed already in the DC Cinematic Universe just as we know Batman has. Lines like this make the DC Cinematic Universe sound like it has deep roots already despite having just one movie out.

“Let’s go save the world.”

Will Smith’s Deadshot doesn’t seem be taking their assignment all-too-seriously, however, his “Let’s go save the world.” line might indicate the scale of what their facing. It’s doubtful the Joker would be out to destroy the entire world, especially with how his mind works where he needs people and good guys to work in the first place, but it makes one wonder what the Suicide Squad is facing.

“I’m not gonna kill ya. I’m just gonna hurt ya, really, really bad.”

Jared Leto graces the screen for a few seconds at most but seems to have nailed his Joker role in the bit we were treated to. It looks as if Harley is on the table as his victim but he may not even see her as a victim but as a patient to whatever treatment he is about to give her.
