“I am beyond thrilled to be writing Supergirl again,” writer Sterling Gates told THR. Gates wrote Supergirl for DC Entertainment from 2008-2011. That run has had a strong influence of the TV series. “Supergirl is one of my all-time favorite characters โ€” I think she’s one of DC’s best characters, period โ€” and I was extremely honored when DC Comics and the producers of CBS’ hit television show asked me to write Adventures of Supergirl.”

The series will be released in biweekly installments, with a rotating artistic team, and will be collected in print later in 2016.

“My editors have assembled a wildly talented group of artists โ€” including Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, Emma Viscelli, and the brilliant cover artist, Cat Staggs โ€” and our goal is to knock your super-socks off every two weeks across 2016,” Gates said.

Staggs has previously provided covers for Small Season 11, The Vampire Diaries, and IDW’s Orphan Black.

The first issue of Adventures of Supergirl will be released Jan. 25. Check out the full cover below.

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
