As Marvel skips out on the Comic-Con festivities, the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents franchise is poised to make a massive announcement regarding feature film and television adaptations.
The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, for those not in the-know, are a team of super heroes who work for the United Nations. But instead of behaving like larger-than-life icons, the Agents are merely everyday people, protecting the world as their nine-to-five day job. IDW Publishing currently owns the franchise and publishes T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents comics.
While information regarding a studio and creative talent for a live action T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents is still under wraps, a mysterious panel description for San Diego Comic-Con confirms that big news is coming for the long-standing franchise.
“It’s not often that a major new motion picture and television franchise is announced in a surrounding more intimate than Hall H! So here’s your opportunity to be part of something very special,” reads the official description. “This panel remains top secret as the race is on to bring in an “A-List” franchise director and executive producer, either in person or via a video greeting, studio heads, producers, and include an homage to the underlying comic book artists, writers, and editors.”
The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents panel will take place on July 9 at 6:00 p.m. in Hall H.
So readers, who do you think is attached to a live-action T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents? Would you like to see the comic series as a television and movie franchise? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned during Comic Con International as news breaks.
