Christopher Nolan is in talks to direct Interstellar, a Paramount Pictures/Warner Brothers co-production written by his brother Jonathan to which producer Steven Spielberg has previously been attached.Apparently the co-production dealmaking has been going on for quite some time and has been tough to manage, but all parties appear fairly confident it will happen and that Interstellar will be Nolan’s next film. The Hollywood Reporter says “The story involves time travel and alternate dimensions and sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. The script is based on scientific theories developed by Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Cal Tech.”Jonathan Nolan, who wrote the script, also co-wrote The Dark Knight, The Prestige and The Dark Knight Rises with his brother. The pair are also still rumored to be providing technical and story advice to Warner Brothers on how to best reboot the Batman franchise now that Christopher Nolan is gone. This is the second project that appears to have lost Spielberg in about 24 hours, as his film Robopocalypse was put on hold indefinitely yesterday, with the director citing problems with the script.
