The Walking Dead has a history of introducing characters, sometimes developing them with a bit of depth, and then sending them off on their way. These faces become victims of the apocalypse in that they are never seen or heard from again despite being alive and well the last time audiences and characters see them.

Season 6 of the AMC series appeared to introduce a group of characters in one particular episode, going as far to make one standout for a potential return in the future, but never did revisit the batch beyond Season 6.
Spoilers follow for fans of The Walking Dead who are 20+ episodes behind which, by now, should be no one here!
Episode 6×06
Episode 6×06 (Always Accountable) saw Daryl Dixon on an adventure in the woods with the character we now know as Dwight.
During the episode, however, Dwight was only referred to as “D” in an effort to keep comic book fans off of the scent of a key character being introduced earlier than expected. Also introduced during the journey through the woods (besides D’s wife Sherry and her sister Tina) were a couple of characters by the names of Cam and Wade.
Cam and Wade were heading up the search party chasing down Dwight after he ran from their group. In their search, Cam ended up getting bit by a zombie on his hand or wrist. After calling at that he had been bitten, Wade rushed over and used a belt to cut Cam’s arm off at the forearm.ย
This would have made Cam immediately recognizable if seen later but no one handed characters (or anyone by the names of Cam or Wade) have come along aside from a some clearly-not-these-guys at the Kingdom.
The Saviors
The Cam and Wade characters appeared to be members of the Saviors.
The group lead by Negan clearly refer to Dwight as D and share the same type of truck which Wade hopped off of upon arrival. The Saviors operate in groups, such as the group lead by Gavin that King Ezekiel has to deal with during their agreed upon drops and Simon’s bunch who often pays visits to Gregory and the Hilltop.
Wade may have been this faction of Saviors’ version of Neganย because, after all, they’re all Negan.ย
Having met several Saviors and not seeing these characters, the question remains: where are Cam and Wade?
Other Compounds
Cam may have very well succumb to the zombie virus which was activated in his body upon the bite or the wound acquired when trying to avoid it. For that matter, Wade may have died shortly after the scene which mysteriously introduced him, as well.
However, if the characters have survived the zombie apocalypse, they’re likely to be hiding out at one of Negan and the Saviors’ compounds. Like the satellite station from Season 6×12, Neganย has various outposts around the outskirts of the Sanctuary which house Savior soldiers.ย
In Robert Kirkman’sย The Walking Dead comics, the outposts become a major factor in the All Out War storyline. Rick’s group is forced to launch attacks on the locations in an effort to entirely beat the Saviors and some key characters lose their lives in the battles. Season 8, which started filming on Wednesday under the direction of executive producer Greg Nicotero, is set to pick up right in the war which was launched in the Season 7 finale.
If Cam and Wade are going to return to AMC’s The Walking Dead, the opportunity for their story to come full circle will be during a battle at on one of the Savior outposts.ย
