After being killed off on the Walking Dead, it looks like actor Emily Kinney won’t be looking hard for her next gig.
Kinney, who played Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, returns to television for a guest role in ABC’s Forever later this year. Kinney will play a college-aged murder victim on the show, whose backstory will unfold through the course of the episode.
As executive producer Matt Miller told Entertainment Weekly, Kinney’s character becomes “[I]nvolved in a very intricate game of role playing, where she’s basically fulfilled someone’s fantasy that dates back to the 1970s, so she dresses up in 1970s garb, but she ends up dead.
Forever’s main character, Henry will find a personal investment in Kinney’s character and her case, feeling a certain connection and relatability to her.
As Miller further explained, “For Henry [Ioan Gruffudd], he’s very easily able to connect to that kind of a story because he understands somebody that would be fixated on a moment of their past that they can’t get past. Emily plays a character that also falls into this idea of obsession. It’s all an episode about obsession and the things we can’t let go of.”
Kinney will appear in the sixteenth episode of Forever’s current season, which will air this spring on ABC.
