What?!

When we first heard that Marvel was re-releasing all 4 of the classic activity books into one mega collection, complete with new stickers, I was floored. I lived on activity books as a kid, and remember quite fondly the ones for Secret Wars. When Marvel sent one out for us to take a look at, the wave of nostalgia was overwhelming.

Before we go too far down this trip through memory lane, let me tell you what?s in this 160 page collection. The Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Activity Book is a reprintingย of the original Secret Wars: The Crime of the Centuries, Escape from Doom, The Secret of Spider-Man’s Shield, and The Tower of Doom. It also includes two stamp books: Secret Wars Stamp Fun and Spider-Man’s Stamp Fun.

Connect the dots to draw the Doom Roller! Help Aunt May get to the Daily Bugle to visit Peter Parker! Finish the story with Turbo Cycle stickers! This book has it all and then some.

The activity book is at first glance something you can?t believe they reproduced, but when you flip through it, you?ll be glad they did. You have to remember, when Secret Wars came out it was more than a comic event. It was the first time Marvel released an action figure line among other promotional material to help promote their comic book line. So to come full circle with the new event carrying the same title is more than welcomed.

Also, don?t let the price ($24.99) scare you away because as someone who has a child on the way and is hoarding all the activity books he can find, whatย is included in this collection is well worth it. The biggest question is, do you buy two? One to keep as a memento, and one to actually do the activities in?

Needless to say, this is a true all-ages book for comic fans of all types. If you?re bringing a kid with you to the comic shop today, pick this one up. If you?re not, pick one up anyway and find someone to give it to. Don?t have a comic shop near you? You can also find this on Amazon, or at Walmart and Target.
