Vin Diesel’s Kaulder may be the last witch hunter, but he’s far from the least important. In fact, some may argue that he’s shaped humanity itself since the 13th Century.
Along with a new photo from The Last Witch Hunter, Diesel’s upcoming sword-and-sorcery adventure, Witch Hunter director Breck Eisner revealed that Kaulder has directed the course of history as that universe’s immortal sword swinger.

“Vin’s character has ยญinextricably shaped the history that we live with todayโand nobody knows it,” ยญEisner told Entertainment Weekly. “We posit the battle between witches and humans began with the Black Plague, an incredibly powerful global curse by witches.”
In The Last Witch Hunter, Kaulder finds himself battling ancient witches in modern times. But in order to stop evil’s latest play against humanity, Kaulder must team-up withโgaspโa good witch. Is there a hidden Wizard of Oz Easter egg in there? Probably not, but we’re content to just see Diesel hack evil witches, anyway.
