Warner Bros. reportedly wants more Batman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

As if getting second billing in the pseudo-sequel to Man of Steel wasn’t enough, Superman is being edged out of the film’s spotlight more and more, if the latest rumor from Heroic Hollywood is to be believed.
The report suggests that Batfleck steals the show from Henry Cavill’s Superman in the scenes that they share, so the studio is looking to capitalize on what seems to be working.
Ben Affleck’s star is shining brightly right now, following successful films like Gone Girl and Argo. It’s also worth noting, as the report does, that Affleck’s studio is located on the Warner Bros. lot, and Argo writer Chris Terrio came onboard Batman v. Superman just after Affleck did. Meanwhile, Cavill just starred in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which had a disappointing box office turnout for Warner Bros.
From a character perspective, there’s no denying that Batman is dominating the wider pop culture landscape right now, with a hit videogame series and a spinoff LEGO movie in the works. From a story perspective, it might make sense to spend more time with this version of Batman, who is making his DC Extended Universe debut, as opposed to Superman, who already had a feature length introduction.
