Famke Janssen, who has been rumored to appear in either The Wolverine or X-Men: Days of Future Past, or both, seemed to suggest to Superhero Hype yesterday at the Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters premiere that she’s not heard anything yet from producer/director Bryan Singer.”I’m sitting by the phone waiting, call me up Bryan!” she said, adding, “I think their challenge is that I died as Jean Grey and I died as the Phoenix, so what else can they do. If they bring a younger version back, they’ll have to get a younger actress, so what is there left to do?”The site reports that when previously asked, she seemed somewhat less uncertain about her prospects for returning, saying, “One never knows. Jean Grey, the Phoenix … she finds a way to reincarnate herself constantly, so one never knows.” With a script completed and no phone call yet made, it will likely lead many fans to speculate that her character won’t appear in the next movie.X-Men: Days of Future Past, set to be released on July 18, 2014, is already confirmed to star a number of actors from both the original X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class, the “flashback” movie that revived the beleaguered franchise after two critically-panned installments in a row (X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine). Cast members from the first films confirmed to reprise their original roles so far include Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman. A number of minor cast members have expressed a desire to return as well, although it’s widely considered unlikely that fans will get another look at Halle Berry as Storm or Kelsey Grammer as Beast.
