Next month would have been the 100th birthday of Jack “The King” Kirby and to pay tribute, fans have started petitioning the search engine giant Google to feature artwork of the legendary comic artist in their daily Google Doodle on Kirby’s birthday, August 28.

The movement can be traced back to Twitter user @calamityjon, who posted a graphic telling fans on how they can help contribute to the cause.
Those interested in helping can contact Google through their Doodle Proposal inbox, making sure to put “Google Doodle for Jack Kirby – August 28 2017″ in the subject line while typing a letter in the body sharing your thoughts on why Kirby’s artwork should be featured.
“Jack Kirby is one of the most important figures in comic book history, responsible for some of the best-known superheroes in the world,” the viral graphic reads. “His unique vision influenced the art form more than any other cartoonist, and remains the apex of visual storytelling.”
Kirby is responsible for creating several comic icons for both Marvel and DC. At the House of Ideas, he helped create the likes of the Avengers (Captain America, the Hulk, and Captain America), X-Men, and the Fantastic Four while his New Gods characters at DC remain fan favorites to this very day.
