5 Comics You Should Read This Week July 19th Edition

It’s new comic day’s eve here at ComicBook.com, and with the myriad of excellent titles out on shelves right now, it can be easy to get a bit overwhelmed at the choices.

While your pull list might already be full, there are plenty of books that are worthy of your attention this Wednesday, including the five books highlighted on this list. Whether the book is a great jumping on point, a big finale, or just something different than the predominant superhero fare, there’s something here for everyone. Of course, there are more than five books worth your time this week, so here are a few runners-up that you should definitely check out if your wallet permits.

Matt Mueller: Aquaman #26

Atlantis has unknowingly had a protector in the slums, but any form of resistance might be over before it starts, as Rath wants to stomp out the former king by any means necessary. Arthur’s outnumbered, but a new acquaintance might just hold the key to getting out of Atlantis alive.

Russ Burlingame: KFC #3 Across The Universe

The team up of the century is happening in KFC #3: Across the Universe when Green Lantern and Colonel Sanders undertake a quest to recover the treasured Chicken Zingers.

It’s not a power battery mind you, but the Colonel’s Chicken is probably more appreciated than the Green Lantern Corps, and is possibly even a matter of global security. It makes sense that the Green Lanterns would get involved.

KFC #3 Across The Universe is written by Tony Bedard with art by Tom Derenick, Trevor Scott, and Sean Parsons, with a cover by Tom Grummett and Trevor Scott. You can find the description of the issue below.

J.K. Scmidt: Shaolin Cowboy #4

The adventures of the Shaolin Cowboy have been building to this epic conclusion, pitting the skilled fighter with a horde of kamikaze zombies.

If you’ve enjoyed the series thus far, the finale promises to deliver an action packed issue that will send off the series in style.
