7 DC Villains Who Hulk Couldn’t Smash, Ranked

The Hulk has one of the best win-loss records in comics. The power of the Hulk has grown exponentially over the years. Hulk is the strongest one there is and basically has infinite power. Hulk starts out stronger than nearly any other hero and villain on Earth, and gets stronger the angrier he gets. The Hulk is easily the most feared being on Earth. He’s beaten the Avengers singlehandedly multiple times. Thor has been defeated by the Hulk, as has Hercules, the Prince of Power. He’s whupped the X-Men like they were nothing, and was able to smash Onslaught’s psionic armor. The Illuminati, a group Hulk would later join, were completely outclassed by the Hulk. Even Thanos fears the Hulk; unlike in the MCU, the Hulk can actually beat Thanos in a straight up fight if it comes down to it. The Hulk is basically unstoppable.

Marvel and DC Comics are having crossovers again, something that Hulk is intimately acquainted with. Hulk was in one of the first Marvel/DC crossovers decades ago, where he crossed over with โ€” and lost to thanks to some knock out gas โ€” Batman. Hulk hasn’t been announced for any crossover yet, but seeing how popular Hulk is, it’s only a matter of time. The Hulk in the DC Multiverse could smash a lot of heroes and villains, but these seven villains would be able to destroy the Hulk.

7) Eclipso

Eclipso is one of the most dangerous villains in the DC Multiverse. Eclipso was once the Angel of God’s Wrath โ€” responsible for the Great Flood โ€” and he loved his job killing humans. God didn’t like this and stripped Eclipso of his position, imprisoning him in the Heart of Darkness black diamond. Since then, multiple people have become hosts to Eclipso. Eclipso has high level reality altering powers, godlike magic, amazing super strength, and invulnerability. Eclipso can also take control of people, and gets more powerful in an eclipse. Eclipso can fight the Justice League to a standstill, and has been able to defeat many of the most powerful heroes out there. Eclipso versus the Hulk is a fight that the Hulk just can’t win. Eclipso’s reality altering powers are almost certainly enough to end the Hulk, but even if that wasn’t the case, Eclipso could batter the Hulk into submission. He could probably even take control of the Hulk’s mind and use him as a battering ram against the heroes. The Hulk is powerful, but Eclipso is on an entirely different level than the Green Goliath.

6) Doomsday

Doomsday is one of the biggest threats to Superman, and makes a pretty good enemy for the Hulk. Doomsday is an unstoppable force of destruction, with super strength that is possibly beyond that of Superman; at the very least, it’s beyond anyone who isn’t as strong as Superman. He’s basically indestructible and his bony spikes that were able to cut even Superman’s invulnerable skin. Finally, Doomsday is hyper adaptive; once you kill him one way, you can’t kill him that way again. So, at this point, Doomsday can’t be bludgeoned to death. Plus, on top of that, the current Doomsday has become the Time Trapper, which gives him complete control over time. The Hulk fighting Doomsday is basically two meaty monsters slapping meat, and they are going to do a massive amount of damage to everything around him. The Hulk’s power to keep getting stronger is going to allow him to do some damage to Doomsday, but here’s the thing โ€” Doomsday starts out at a strength level that is way higher than the Hulk. Doomsday is a ravening beast who is meant to destroy everything in his path; he doesn’t hold back. So, there’s a very good chance that Doomsday can defeat the Hulk pretty quickly. It would definitely be an awesome fight to see in the comics, but Doomsday should handily take this fight.

5) Parasite

Parasite is a villain that has the potential to defeat Superman. Parasite’s name pretty much says it all about his powers. Parasite can drain the powers of anyone he faces, becoming more and more powerful. Parasite’s powers are such that he doesn’t need to touch someone to take their powers, meaning that anyone in the general vicinity of Parasite have their powers become a meal for the villain. Parasite would love to fight the Hulk. He would drink up the Hulk’s power and keep getting stronger and stronger, while the Hulk got weaker and weaker. In fact, there’s a chance that the Parasite could completely drain the power of the Hulk, making him vastly stronger. Now, there’s also a chance that the infinite power of the Hulk would be too much for the Parasite, but before it ever got to that point, Parasite will have drained enough power from the Hulk to be able to knock him out.

4) Brainiac

Brainiac is one of Superman’s most dangerous enemies. There are few beings in the DC Multiverse that Superman is actually afraid of, but Brainiac is at the top of that list. Brainiac is a level 12 intelligence, meaning that he’s probably one of the smartest beings in the entire universe. His ship is equipped with weapons that can destroy solar systems, and his drones are powerful enough to take on Superman. Brainiac has been established as having Superman level strength and durability as well, which would put him over the Hulk in strength until the Hulk gets really angry. However, even with that physical power, Brainiac’s greatest weapon is his mind. There have been multiple Brainiacs over the years, and all of them have been able to figure out ways to defeat anyone. Brainiac never goes anywhere without his ship, so he’d have that with him, including the shrinking ray that can shrink entire cities. He’d also have all of his technology and his drones. That pretty much gives him the win in this fight, but even in a straight up one on one fight, Brainiac would be able to take the Hulk before he got too strong.

3) Reverse Flash

The Reverse Flash is an amazing villain. 25th century inhabitant Eobard Thawne was obsessed with the Flash, and used the technology of the future to become exactly like his idol, down to his powers. His obsession became mania, and he decided that he wanted to destroy the man that he once loved. The Reverse Flash, unlike other DC speedsters, isn’t connected to the Speed Force, but the Negative Speed Force. This power allowed him to not only change the timestream (something he took advantage of to torment Barry Allen and to tailor his own life to the way he wanted it), but to move faster than the speed of light and use the parasitic black lightning of the Negative Speed Force, which allowed him to kill speedsters with just a touch. The Reverse Flash’s amazing speed is enough to trump the Hulk’s infinite strength. The Reverse Flash usually holds back against Barry Allen because he wants him to suffer; he wouldn’t hold back against the Hulk. Reverse Flash can use the infinite mass punch (an attack where you hit someone at the speed of light, which means that you have infinite mass). The Hulk is powerful, but he has no chance against the Reverse Flash. This would be the shortest fight of the Hulk’s life.

2) General Zod

There are a lot of people out there who think the Hulk can beat Superman, but there’s really no chance of that. Superman’s variety of powers give him a huge advantage over the Hulk, and while the Hulk could potentially get stronger than Superman, Superman would be able to beat him before that ever happened. So, on that note, I 100% think that General Zod would destroy the Hulk. Zod has all of the same powers, at the same level, as Superman does, but he also has amazing fighting ability. Zod was Krypton’s greatest solider, and he’s a much, much smarter fighter than the Hulk could ever hope to be. He knows how to use his powers intelligently, and the combination of strength, speed, and flight will allow him to destroy the Hulk. I really don’t think this fight would be as good as a fight between Superman and Hulk, because Zod doesn’t hold back like Superman does. He’ll see someone like the Hulk and kick it into a gear that the Hulk just won’t be able to reach quickly enough. Zod outclasses the Hulk, and he would hand the Jade Giant a pretty handy defeat.

1) Darkseid

Darkseid is the DC Multiverse’s greatest villain. Darkseid is the God of Evil and the lord of Apokolips. He’s powerful enough to thrash basically any hero on Earth in a one on one fight. Darkseid has had titanic battles against Superman, which should tell you about how tough he is. Darkseid is stronger than Superman, and his Omega Effect eyebeams are one of the most dangerous attacks in comics. They can hunt down their quarry anywhere they are and are a one-hit kill for just about anyone they are used against. Darkseid can be stopped, but it takes a bunch of technology and knowledge of Darkseid in order to do so. The Hulk doesn’t stand a chance against Darkseid. I don’t think that the Omega Effect would be able to kill the Hulk with one shot, but the Hulk just isn’t powerful enough to beat Darkseid before Darkseid beats him. Darkseid would want to take control of the Hulk after the fight to use as a weapon, which is honestly a pretty big honor.
