Watch The Extended Trailer For ‘The Flash’ Season 4 Premiere

An extended trailer for the Season Four premiere of The CW’s The Flash just posted online, featuring villains attacking Central City while Iris and Cisco get in a heated debate over whether or not to bring Barry back.

The trailer, which you can check out above, begins with Iris West taking charge of the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, burying her grief after Barry Allen sacrificed himself to enter the Speed Force. Despite encouragement from her father, she continues to push herself to fulfill the void and protect Central City.

But Cisco and Wally West are having trouble picking up the slack, especially with all of the villains coming out of the woodwork to take advantage of the Flash’s disappearance.

The clip shows a brief shot of Peek-A-Boo’s return, as well as the debut of a new villain known as Samuroids. With the remaining heroes being stretched thin, Cisco doubles his efforts to bring the Flash back home.

But Iris wants to move forward without him after promising Barry that she wouldn’t look back or try to rescue him. The two appear to get into an argument; Iris doubts that Barry is even alive still, while Cisco doesn’t lose faith.

He finally takes matters into his own hands and sets up the Speed Force cannon to retrieve his friend.

Barry finally makes his long-awaited return, but he appears to be a changed man. How different is he? Well, he has a beard, for starters.

The Flash is setting up quite the mystery in just its first episode of the fourth season. Why is Barry back? What happened to him in the Speed Force? And if someone needs to remain, how is he able to escape?

We’ll find out how Team Flash deals with all of these changes when the show returns to The CW on Tuesday, October 10th.
