There have been some crazy combinations in the toy space, with a seemingly never-ending sprint to ride a franchise out with the most ridiculous add-ons just to sell a few more toys. You can look to any Batman or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line for proof of this, as there’s really no reason for the Turtles to be in special space armor or Batman to be rummaging around in Medieval Samurai armor, but there they hang on the pegs nonetheless.

Occasionally though the creators strike gold, like they recently did with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE mashup, which gave fans Macho Man Randy Savage Michelangelo. Sometimes inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places, and smashing some opposing franchises together could yield some amazing results.

Here are the 5 odd toy mashups that we would like to see.

Golden Girls / War Of The Planet Of The Apes

If you’ve seen the debut War Of The Planet Of The Apes trailer, you know that it’s a tension-filled affair. Humanity is fighting for its very survival in this new world and the Apes don’t plan on giving it back easily. Who better to face down the Ape new world order than four women who represent the best humanity has to offer then?

That’s right, the Golden Girls will be the ones to stand up for the human race, and it will be glorious. It would feature all four of the fan favorites, including Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and of course Sophia, each one coming in a battle themed two-pack, with Ceaser vs Sophia being the most coveted.

Side charactersย like Stan and brother Angelo would come in later packs, and Rose would even have a St. Olaf war battalionย for reinforcements.

It’s just crazy enough to sell like hotcakes, especially with the renewed popularity of the show and the upcoming anticipation for the film.

WWE / Pokemon

The Pokemon franchise continues to peddle along, and courtesy of Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sun and Moon has never been better. Now it’s time to take all that momentum and channel it into another skyrocketing product, the WWE.

There are two different ways to go about this. The companies could either decide to make a line of figures that gives fan favorite Pokemon like Pikachu, Charmander, and Eevee a WWE themed makeover or could decide to base some new Pokemon creations on the WWE roster.

The former would lead to John Cena-chu, a Pikachu with Cena’s trademark hat, armbands, and never give up accessories, or a Charleevee, who a flair-inspired shirt and a jeweled design around her eye like Charlotte rocks on Monday Night RAW.

If you’re going for all original designs, you could open up the roster a bit, like a Ziggagler, who has the ability to make every battle its in more entertaining, or the Baylaley, who will crush opposing Pokemon with the most powerful hug in the world.

Star Wars / Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog has been breaking hearts in video game land for some time now, as the original Sonic Adventure keeps getting further and further out of sight. While his games haven’t won over any new fans, his cartoon and comic series have managed to keep his fandom supplied with new content over the years.

If you’re looking for a way to infuse a toyline with new life, just add Star Wars to it, right?

Sonicย The Star Wars Hedgehog would reenvisionย the line with a Star Wars flare. Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Big The Cat would all be fighting for the rebellion cause, channeling their special abilities into custom lightsabers. They would, of course, face down the evil machinations of Dr. Robotnik, who now would have Eggtroopers under his control.

The hunt for the Chaos Emeralds would be even more entertaining with this combo, and the toys would be hot commeodities. You know want a Knuckles-Solo figure.

Fast And The Furious / Transformers

The high-speed chases and adrenaline-filled action sequences are part of what makes the Fast and Furious franchise so successful, and in many ways, the Transformers franchise remains popular because of a healthy amount of similar traits. The transformers do have one advantage, though, that being the whole vehicle turning into robots thing.

What if you took both franchises and mashed them together, resulting in Fast and the Furious action figures that transformed? Vin Diesel loves his Dodge Charger, but instead of having to part it in his garage he would just transform and hit the road. The Rock could transform into a Humvee and Tyreese would transform into an orange Lamborghini because he’s all about style.

The toys would have fully functioning wheels and doors, so you could move from high-speed toy chases to big robot battles in an instant, with the characters that become fan favorites at the wheel. Well, really, they are the wheel, but you get the point.

Just printing money.

DC Super Hero Girls / The Walking Dead

The DC Super Hero Girls are examples of unending positivity and perseverance, pushing through whatever obstacles stand in their way. A new toy mashup would give them their biggest obstacle yet, the zombie apocalypse.

If the students at Super Hero High were the last bastion in the tension-filled world of The Walking Dead, how would they deal with it? The figures would be an offshoot of the main brand and would include more muted costumes with some wear and tear on them. There would also be a playset of Super Hero High, complete with barbed wire fencing to keep the walkers out and an assembly of watchtowers.

There would also be a few villains like Granny Goodness who are taking advantage of this harsh new world, and they would come with their own army of walkers.
