Sometimes you have to rely on surprising people to get the job done, but Batman probably didn’t ever think he would have to rely on Harley Quinn. His “God help us” line doesn’t inspire much confidence.

The unexpected but anticipated animated team-up of Batman and Harley Quinn now has an official trailer, which you can view above (via EW). The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the main antagonists for the film, that being Floronic Man (played by Kevin Michael Richardson) and Poison Ivy, once again played by Paget Brewster.
Harley will team up with Batman and Nightwing to stop her former best friend Ivy from turning millions of people into plants. Wherever Harley goes though, chaos follows and seeing this odd group try to function as a team should be ridiculously entertaining.
Granted, Harley’s a former criminal, but Batman could certainly stand to lighten up a bit. C’mon, give her a spa day Bruce! She’s not asking for much.
A recent featurette gave a summary of the film’s premise. “They’ve grabbed these characters that are so established from Batman: The Animated Series,” explains voice director Wes Gleason, “and found a way to spin them in this ’80s roadshow that’s full of action, but yet has all the comedic notes to it as they still try to save the day.”
Batman and Harley Quinn is directed by Sam Liu and written by Bruce Timm and James Krieg.
The film stars Melissa Rauch (Big Bang Theory) as Harley Quinn, Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Loren Lester as Nightwing/Dick Grayson, Paget Brewster (Poison Ivy), John DiMaggio as Sarge Steel, Kevin Michael Richardson as Floronic Man/Jason Woodrue, Robin Atkin Downes, Mindy Sterling, Rob Paulsen, Trevor Devall, and Eric Bauza.
Batman and Harley Quinn is expected to hit later this summer.
