When it comes to casting sleuths, the DC fandom has no short supply. Legions of DC Extended Universe fanatics continue to comb the Internet for any sign of new casting updates, and some think they've stumbled upon more evidence linking actress Eiza Gonzalez to the role of Catwoman.

Earlier this year, fans started to speculate that the Baby Driver actress was being eyed for a role in Gotham City Sirens. The whole theory began after Geoff Johns followed the actress on Twitter before she teased fans about a black jumpsuit on Instagram. Now, it is David Ayer who has revived fervor over the actress and her possible DCEU connection.

Over on Reddit, fans began pulling together new evidence they say may connect Gonzalez to Selina Kyle. Some noticed that the actress was just recently followed on Twitter by Gotham City Sirens director David Ayer along with other DCEU comrades like Joe Manganiello and Clay Enos.

RUMOR: David Ayer Officially follows rumored Catwoman actress Eiza Gonzalez on Twitter + she cuts hair... from DC_Cinematic

The social media follow seems to be backing up most of the new rumor's drive, but Gonzalez's recent haircut is also adding to the conversation. The actress recently cut her long hair into a long bob, one which looks a lot like a hairstyle Selina Kyle has rocked in the comics.

So far, fans seem intrigued by the idea of Gonzalez bringing Catwoman to life on the big screen. The actress did receive plenty of love for her work on Baby Driver, but there are some who question how the star's age could factor into the role. Fans have pointed out the 27-year-old actress is quite a bit younger than Ben Affleck, and Batman does feature heavily in Catwoman's history as a on-and-off again lover. Still, if the actress is suited for the job, then age is but a number in the eyes of DC Films.

For now, fans can only speculate about Gonzalez and her hoped-for gig with the DCEU. Gotham City Sirens may have a director in place, but the film failed to get mentioned at San Diego Comic Con this summer. It seems DC Films is slowing its roll with all its cinematic spin-offs until Justice League gets off the ground next month, so Catwoman can take her time slinking into the DCEU for now.
