Spoilers for “Crisis on Earth-X” below, obviously. Only look if you want to know!

After Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Iris West’s (Candice Patton) wedding was crashed by villains from Earth-X, the Arrowverse‘s heroes were plunged into a fight unlike any other.

The conflict then took some of the heroes to Earth-X, where they joined forces with Ray Terrill/The Ray (Russell Tovey) and Leonard Snart/Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller). They eventually found their way back to Earth-1, and gave audiences a fight – and an ending – they had to see to believe.

After the #CrisisOnEarthX hashtag reached the top of American Twitter trends last night, the second half of the event had a lot to live up to. But as you’d expect, people had plenty of opinions about the crossover on Twitter. Let’s break them down…

Earth-X

Tonight’s episode picked up right where the cliffhanger left off, with a gaggle of the Arrowverse’s heroes stuck on Earth-X.

Along the way, fans met some of the universe’s dopplegangers, including versions of Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan), and Felicity Smoakย (Emily Bett Rickards). The episode also provided a look at Earth-X itself… and it was a lot to take in.

The Ray and Citizen Cold

The episode also introduced fans to two new characters, Ray Terrill/The Ray (Russell Tovey), and Leonard “Leo” Snart/Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller).

The couple helped the Arrowverse’s heroes with their fight against the Earth-Xers, while being pretty adorable in the process. And it seems like fans loved every minute of it.

Stein’s Death

While tonight’s episodes included plenty of awesome moments, the final chapter also included a rather somberย death.

Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber), one half of Firestorm and a veteran of the Arrowverse going all the way back to the first season of The Flash, was gunned down by Nazis on Earth-X while working to reactivate a gateway home and save the combined forces of Earth-1’s superheroes. He ultimately died while back on Earth-1, with his Firestorm partner Jaxย Jackson (Franz Drameh) by his side.

That Fight Scene

After processing Stein’s death, the Arrowverse’s heroes realized that their fight wasn’t over just yet.ย They took their fight with the Earth-Xers to the streets of Central City, and gave fans the “gigantic” third act fight that has been teased for months.

The fight scene gave almost every Arrowverse hero a moment to shine, including an impressive minute-long long take.ย

West-Allen Wedding

And finally, the crossover’s closing minutes finally gave fans the wedding they’d been expecting… with a twist.

After their initial proceedings were crashed by Earth-Xers, Barry and Iris were finally able to get married. While the event kind of turned into a double wedding (which we’ve covered the reactions to here), it still gave West-Allenย fans a lot to take in.
