Every Character Currently Confirmed For The Aquaman Movie

While The Flash and The Batman seem to be having some production troubles lately, everything is going swimmingly on the Aquaman front.

Director James Wan gathered his stars for the first table read last week, they seem to be ahead of schedule in terms of preparation, and the casting notices are beginning to barrel down the pipeline.

With that in mind, there are a lot of rumors floating around, and it can be hard to separate what’s real and what isn’t.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Here are all of the characters that are totally confirmed for Aquaman in 2018, and the actors that will be portraying them.

Aquaman

This is obvious, but it’s worth noting. Aquaman will definitely appear in Aquaman.

Jason Momoa will have a large role in this year’s Justice League, and he will move on to take the lead in this movie.

The question is however, what state will Arthur Curry be in when his solo outing hits theaters. Could the events of Justice League change him?

Mera

Where would Aquaman be without his queen?

Mera, Queen of Atlantis, is being played by Amber Heard. The character will likely have the second-largest role in the film – next to Aquaman himself. 

This won’t be the first time we see Hera though, as she’s slated to appear in Justice League later this year.

Orm The Oceanmaster

Orm is the villainous half-brother of Aquaman, and he will play a pivotal role in the upcoming film.

Played by Patrick Wilson, Orm’s story here could go in a couple of directions. He could be a total villain throughout the movie, but the inclusion of other villains makes you think otherwise.

Orm will likely act as a Loki-esque character, who is both an ally and foe to the hero.

Black Manta

Black Manta’s inclusion in Aquaman has been rumored for awhile, but today’s casting decision confirms it.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was officially cast as Aquaman’s classic nemesis today, beating out the likes of Trevante Rhodes and Corey Hawkins.

Seeing as how Manta and Aquaman are lifelong foes, this addition doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Look for the former treasure hunter to make Aquaman’s life incredibly complicated throughout the film.

Nuidis Vulko

Aquaman will need advice, and prominent member of the Atlantean council Nuidis Vulko will aim to give it to him.

Willem Defoe is portraying the character, and he will act as a voice in the ear of Arthur Curry. 

Vulko, along with Curry and Hera, will appear in Justice League this year.
