DC has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of Darkseid #1, due in stores on Wednesday and one of the final “Kirby 100” one-shots celebrating Jack “King” Kirby’s 100th birthday by giving some of comics’ top names access to his characters.

Besides the one-shots, DC has also launched a number of limited series: The Kamandi Challenge and Bug: The Adventures of Forager launched earlier in the year, while August introduced fans to Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ Mister Miracle.

You can check out the images in the attached image gallery, and the solicitation text for Darkseid, from Kirby biographer Mark Evanier and artist Scott Kolins, below.

The issue also features a backup story featuring OMAC, from writer Sam Humphries and artist Steve Rude (who also drew this week’s installment of The Kamandi Challenge).

Mark Evanier, longtime Kirby associate and biographer (Kirby: King of Comics), tells a tale starring one of Jack’s greatest villains. The latest daring escape from the orphanage of Granny Goodness leaves an infuriated Darkseid determined to capture and punish the escapees. The Lord of Apokolips puts his best hunter on the case, but one of Granny’s students is unlike anyone he’s encountered before. Plus, an untold tale of Omac by Humphries and Rude and a classic Kirby Fourth World tale!
