Dan Abnett writes the issue, with art from Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund and a cover by Mike Choi.
In Titans #1, picking up from the events of Titans: Rebirth #1 (and by extention, the events of DC Universe: Rebirth #1, since Titans was one of the most tied-in stories), sees the team adjusting to the new reality they’re faced with in the wake of Wally West’s reappearance.
After an old ally returns to the team, the Titans set their sights on a dangerous enemy with the power to change reality itself! But the Titans have never faced a threat this massive before, and with so much on the line, will they be able to stand united as a team? Or will their past mistakes be their undoing?
The first issue was critically acclaimed and sold out almost immediately. While fans are excited about the Rebirth initiative as a whole, anything Wally West touches tends to have an extra layer of hype surrounding it…and Titans: Rebirth delivered both heart and spectacle in spades.
(And, no, contrary to early solicitations the story title is not “Remember the Titans,” but “The Return of Wally West.”)
Abnett, who is also writing Aquaman, has made himself an indispensable part of DC’s Rebirth success in part by focusing on characters more than plot…but it sounds as though this week’s issue will finally start to move in the direction of trying to answer questions about DC Universe: Rebirth and the “mysterious foe” that DC’s heroes will eventually have to face down.
