The highly-anticipated Green Lantern Corps film – that’s expected to hit theaters in 2020 – has now been assigned a team of screenwriters.
Warner Bros. has just revealed that David Goyer and Justin Rhodes will be writing the team-up film.
David Goyer is a recognizable name for DC fans, as he has worked on numerous cinematic projects for the franchise. In addition to writing the script for Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, Goyer wrote both Man Of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
The studio also announced that Goyer will serve as a producer on the project.
Justin Rhodes is an up-and-coming screenwriter in the industry, and only has a couple of features to his name so far. He’s written the scripts for Unmanned, Grassroots, and Contract Killers.
The studio may be trying to move Rhodes into a prominent writing position in the future, by teaming him up with a veteran writer/producer like Goyer.
In addition to revealing the writers of Green Lantern Corps, Warner Bros. revealed Jon Stewart will be in the film, and hinted at a couple of small plot details.
