Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot managed to deliver the first home run of the DCEU era, but one part of that duo isn’t along for the Justice League ride.

That would be Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. Justice League director Zack Snyder is listed as a producer on Wonder Woman, so it would be natural to have the same reciprocated for Justice league, or so one would assume. As Jenkins revealed during a roundtable discussion (via ScreenRant), that is not the case.
When asked if she is involved with Wonder Woman‘s appearance in Justice league, Jenkins said: “Not almost at all.” After how celebrated her take on Diana was, it does seem odd to not include her in the process in even a small way, though to be fair Justice League has undergone a variety of changes in a small timeframe, so maybe less cooks in the kitchen is not a bad thing.
Still, shouldn’t Jenkins have some hand in making sure the character is handled correctly? Even a producer credit would be expected, especially since the same courtesy was handed to Ben Affleck (listed as executive producer on Justice League), and he hasn’t directed a DCEU film yet, nonetheless one that was so successful.
Regardless of her role in Justice league, the good news is that Jenkins is returning for a Wonder Woman sequel, and Geoff Johns is already underway on the script, so it seems the character will be in good hands once again. Hopefully, Justice League will continue the momentum that Wonder Woman started.
