What DC heroes and villains will appear in Injustice 2? Well, we've seen a number of characters in gameplay footage and on other teasers, but a t-shirt worn by one of the video game's developers in an interview may provide the best clues yet.
NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon shared an image to Twitter, in which he's wearing a t-shirt that will be given away at the Season 3 ESL Mortal Kombat finals this weekend. On the shirt, you can see logos, masks, and other paraphernalia tied to a number of DC characters assumed to be playable characters in the forthcoming fighting game.
On the shirt, you see Captain Cold's gun, Superman's shield, Batman's cowl, Aquaman's trident, The Flash's boot, Green Lantern's power battery, Harley Quinn's hammer, Doctor Fate's helmet, and a ninth item, not readily identifiable becase of the angle at which it's sitting on the shirt. Given the fact that it appears to feature concentric circles, it could be Wonder Woman's shield.
Injustice 2 continues the story of Injustice: Gods Among Us “as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman’s regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s existence at risk. Players can play from the biggest DC roster ever offered in a fighting game, from classic fan favorites such as Batman, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman, to astonishing new villains like Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Battles will take place across arenas that have evolved in scale and span across iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.”
Injustice 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
