This weekend was Mexican Independence Day and the cast of Justice League took a moment to unite in celebration.

In a short video posted to the Warner Bros. Cine Instagram, Ezra Miller (The Flash,) Jason Momoa (Aquaman,) Ray Fisher (Cyborg,) Ben Affleck (Batman,) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) shared a holiday message for fans, wishing them a happy Mexican Independence Day with Miller shouting, “¡Viva México!” in celebration.
For those unfamiliar with Mexican Independence Day, the holiday is different than Cinco De Mayo which celebrates a specific victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. Instead, Mexican Independence Day celebrates “El Grito de Delores,” or “The Cry of Delores,” when on September 15, 1810 Father Miguel Hidalgo called his congregation to mass in Dolores, Mexico and urged them to fight for independence, calling out “¡Viva México!”
The holiday celebration, which includes food, parades and family parties, spans two days, starting on the evening of September 15th in observation of Father Hidalgo’s call for independence.
Fans of the DCEU will notice that the only member of the League missing from the cast’s holiday message was Henry Cavill. While the Superman actor is confirmed to be returning for the film, Cavill has been largely absent from some of the promotional appearances leading up to the film’s release due to schedule conflicts. Cavill has also recently been lending a hand with Hurricane Irma cleanup efforts in Florida.
Fans will get to see the heroes unite again when Justice League hits theaters this fall.
