The trailer features a cover version of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” a perfect choice considering the content of the new movie. The cover artist, Gang of Youths, croons Bowie’s immortal lyrics as the Justice League comes together to fight Parademons.

“I…I can remember, standing by the walls,” the singer says as scenes flash of the heroes each realizing the threat that Steppenwolf and his army poses to the world. That’s followed up by the lyrics “And the guns, the guns shot over our head,” as Batman drives his new tank-like vehicle into action into a devastated warzone.

Finally, the song utters the iconic refrain “We can be heroes….just for one day,” as Aquaman spears a Parademon while falling through the air.

Bowie originally recorded “Heroes” in 1977 and it remained one of his most popular songs throughout the career. Bowie famously sang “Heroes” in West Berlin in 1987, which many believed was a major catalyst for the eventual removal of the Berlin Wall.

Many consider “Heroes” to be one of the best songs ever made, as Rolling Stone named the song the 46th greatest song of all time. “Heroes” is Bowie’s most covered song after his other immortal hit “Rebel Rebel.”

Justice League releases in theaters on November 17, 2017.
