‘Supergirl’ EP Teases Season 3’s Female Villains

It sounds like Supergirl fans can expect plenty of fascinating female villains in the show’s upcoming third season.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Supergirl executive producer Robert Rovner previewed the show’s newest Big Bad – Reign (Odette Anabele). According to Rovner, the show will enter uncharted territory with how it explores her character.

“What’s great about having this villain is that we’ll get to go deeper than we’ve explored other villains.” Rovner explained. “We’ll get a deeper understanding of what makes her tick, which will be exciting for us.”

Annable echoed this to ComicBook.com earlier this summer, adding that fans will be surprised to see what goal the ‘Worldkiller’ will ultimately have.

“I think what’s awesome about Reign is that she’s unlike any villain that we’ve seen on Supergirl in Seasons 1 and 2.” Annable revealed. “She’s coming in with her own agenda. It’s a completely different thing that she’s coming into. And I don’t think people will expect to see what she’s doing, which is very exciting.”

Rovner also praised one of the season’s other villains, the psychically-powered Psi (Jane the Virgin‘s Yael Grobglas).

“She’s super cool, and she’s a good match for Supergirl.” Rovner added. “It’ll be interesting to see her going up against Kara.”

Fans will get to see both of these villains make their debut when Supergirl premieres Monday, October 9th, at 8/7c, on The CW.
