The Dark Knight has been on the receiving end of some truly wonderful cosplays, but it’s hard to argue that this Cosplay from Julian Checkley is one of the best around.

When you’re looking to base a Cosplay on Batman, you have a bevy of options. Whether you want to go with something a kitschier like the costume from his original debut of the 1960’s Adam West version, or something more practical and realistic like the current costume in DC Rebirth or the Ben Affleck version from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, you have no shortage of inspiration.
For Checkley’s version (though Order 66 Creatures and Effects), he decided to create a costume based on the most underappreciated (but equally good) of the Batman Arkham games, Batman: Arkham Origins. As you can see, the suit looks incredibly detailed and realistic, and every part of the costume was 3D printed by Kevin LeProp (via Reddit). The pieces themselves are only part of the equation, however, as the paint application is fantastic, with a piercing blue hue on the armor plates and in the cape.
Checkley wasn’t content just designing a suit, so he also designed an actual operating fireball gauntlet, Batarangs that fold for easy portability, and a wrist computer that plays a sonar ping like the game.
As with any Cosplay, the costume is only part of what makes it stand out, and the photography from Kamil Krawczak is equally impressive. The beautiful lighting and epic angles, especially in the hallway photo, just feel incredibly real. Everything here is movie quality, and the team should be proud of what they accomplished.
