The only thing that was somewhat disappointing about Wonder Woman is that it didn’t include a Lynda Carter cameo. However, the sequel might make up for its absence.

At the age of seven, Patty Jenkins was already into comic books and was a huge fan of Superman. She loved that the Man of Steel shared her belief that within all humans there is a desire to change the world for the better. And when the Wonder Woman television series (1975-1979) — starring Carter — came into her life, it had a powerful impact on her.
“I watched the TV show, and she was everything a girl could aspire to be: strong and kind, exciting and stylish, powerful and effective, and just as fierce as the boys,” Jenkins explained in the film’s production notes. “She’s a badass, and at the same time shestands for love, forgiveness and benevolence in a complicated world. I feel so honored to be making a movie about a Super Hero who stands for such important values.”
Being such a fan of the show, Jenkins reached to Carter, asking her to appear in the film, but because Carter’s busy schedule, she wasn’t able to accept the offer.
“I’ve spoken to [director] Patty Jenkins. She talked to me on the phone about the character, and we were trying to see if I could do something with the movie, but it didn’t work out,” Carter told Variety in October 2016. “The timing was off, and I was doing other things and couldn’t get over to where they were shooting.”
As they say: If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. On Twitter, Jenkins responded to someone that wished Carter appeared in the film and wondered if she might be included in the sequel.
“Oh we tried, tried, tried,” Jenkins wrote. “And we won’t stop trying.”
