Injustice 2 is one hell of a fighting game. Not only does it have one of the best single player campaigns we’ve seen in the genre for some time, but its multiplayer is highly engaging, and there’s so much gear you can unlock.
But let’s talk about the depth of the storytelling itself. Each of the encounters the characters have with one another are almost entirely unique, with plenty of great dialogue choices during intros and clashes. What’s more, sometimes the pairing of certain brawlers brings out some great dialogue choices. And that’s where the Easter Eggs come in.

Injustice 2 is strewn with them, featuring a number of terrific references and other details that fans will truly enjoy. You may have missed a few (or maybe you haven’t discovered them yet), but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a quick recap of five Easter Eggs you might have missed!
The Wildcat Reference
What you’ll want to do is start up a match between Batman and Black Canary. Go ahead and get to fighting, but make sure that Black Canary loses the first round. After taking her out, Batman could very well make a reference to Wildcat, asking, “What’s Wildcat been teaching you?” They don’t actually appear in the game, but it’s definitely a shout out to comic book fans.
Changing the Movie Marquee
So, in the downtown stage of Injustice 2, you may notice a movie theater in the background. You can actually smash your opponent into it if you’re standing in the right spot, close to the center of the screen. But here’s the thing. You’ll want to do that a few times. By doing so, you’ll actually change the words that are on the marquee to “FINISH HIM” โ a classic fatality signal from the original Mortal Kombat games! (Netherrealm Studios, the team behind Injustice 2, previously worked on the series.)
A Familiar Cyrax Code
Here’s another neat little Easter Egg that’s included in the game for Mortal Kombat lovers. In the midst of the game’s storyline, Catwoman, alongside Cyborg, is asked to override a system โ in which she reads off the code “LK-4D4”. Devotees to the series will easily recognize this as the name of the robot hunter Cyrax in the Mortal Kombat series, and also the variation from Mortal Kombat X โ which Netherrealm worked on before this one.
Chilled Monkey Brains!
Get into a fight with Gorilla Grodd and the Joker, and you’ll want to initiate a clash. By doing so, the two will come head to head, and the Clown Prince of Crime could start with a quick conversation that goes, “Chilled monkey brains are DELISH!” This is a reference to the classic “meal” sequence from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom from 1984, where the guests were actually served, yup, monkey brains. Perhaps what’s even more surprising is that Grodd notes, “We do have something in common.” Welp.
Raiden Shout-Out!
This Easter Egg involves yet another clash, this time between Joker and Black Adam. Once you get into it, he’ll ask, “Meet that other lightning guy?” To which Black Adam responds, “With the bamboo hat? Yes.” That’s a shout-out to classic MK character Raiden, who has been hinted at as possibly joining Injustice 2 down the road as a DLC character. Nothing’s been finalized yet, but he’d definitely be the guy to take, ahem, “charge” of the situation.
