Cuphead Getting An Awesome Launch Party Later This Month

Nope, you're not seeing things – we are literally just days away from the release of Studio MDHR's incredibly hard but wildly entertaining Cuphead, a game that shares just as much in common with hardcore shooters like Contra and Metal Slug as it does 1930's cartoons, which the art style is clearly based upon.

And with its release right around the corner, Microsoft has announced that a launch party will be taking place later this month, at the iconic Meltdown Comics and Collectibles store in Los Angeles.

The party will be going strong on the 29th of September from 7:00 to 11:00 PM PDT, and fans can attend and celebrate everything about the game with a number of light refreshments, all within a 1930's themed environment. Playable kiosks featuring the game will be on hand, and the game's creators, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, will also be available, should you have any questions or just want to gush about the game's superb art style – and, yes, it's superb.

The event is free to the public, and those of you that are interested can RSVP here on the Eventbrite page. It's still entry on a first-come, first-serve basis, and definitely something that fans of the game won't want to miss. Who knows, you might even get to take home a collectible or two.

Cuphead has been in development for some time now, with Studio MDHR not giving a firm release date on it as it attempted to work more on the game's animations, as well as including more than just boss battles, as the game was originally designed. So far, feedback has been very positive, with Cuphead providing a refreshing challenge while, at the same time, maintaining its great art style. We're happily looking forward to digging into it when it arrives, and will have a full review shortly following its release.
