Those looking to buy an Xbox One X can add Dead by Daylight to the list of games that'll receive unique enhancements, but if you're waiting on a Nintendo Switch version of the asymmetrical horror game, you might be disappointed.

Dead by Daylight developers Behaviour Interactive spoke to DualShockers during the weekend's New York Comic Con and discussed their future console plans. The game's lead designer, Mathieu Cote, shot down the hopes for a Switch version pretty quickly. When asked about the possibility that the game would be ported to Nintendo's hit console, Cote said that the developers had no plan to do so at this time.

After dropping the news up front Cote went on to explain their reasoning for straying away from the Switch, the designer said that there are multiple reasons behind the decision. The "technical requirements" of bringing the game to the Switch were one of the areas that he touched on, a reason that's been brought up by other developers before when discussing Switch versions of their games. Cote also said that the "specific controls" that the Switch uses might make it difficult for the developers to bring the game to the console. No further details were provided on that issue, so it's unclear exactly which facets of the Switch's controls would prove difficult to utilize.

But for those who prefer Microsoft's console over the Switch, you can expect enhancements to come to the game with the Xbox One X. Specifics on what kinds of enhancements will be included weren't provided, but Cote did mention that they'd be more general performance increases. These pertain to resolution and framerate along with other gameplay improvements, but other changes might also be made once the Xbox One X is out and the enhanced version of Dead by Daylight is finalized.

Dead by Daylight recently added Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to its lineup of Killers, and there's even a rumor floating around that Freddy Krueger could be the next horror icon that's added to the game's growing roster.

Dead by Daylight is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
