Destiny 2 will finally launch on September 6,but you don't have to wait that long to get your hands on the game. The Destiny 2 Open Beta kicks off on July 21, which is the same day the Splatoon 2 free Splatfest kicks off for Nintendo Switch owners. We're going to be drowning in fantastic shooters that weekend. To get you pumped, Bungie just released an Open Beta launch trailer, which you can check out above.

While this a beat, it's absolutely packed with content. Players are going to be able to work their way through the entire opening mission of the single-player campaign. Additionally, we'll also have access to a co-op strike called "Inverted Spiral." You and up to two friends will be able to take on the new strike together to get a taste of the co-op adventures that await in September. Don't worry, Crucible nerds, we'll get to eat, too. Two competitive multiplayer modes will be live to try during the open beta as well. That's where I'll be spending the majority of my time, so I hope to see you in the Crucible.

While the Destiny 2 open beta begins on July 21, if you pre-order the game you can get early access to the beta beginning on July 18. This is three extra days to jump around the single-player level and try to record yourself discovering a glitch or bug that will go viral on YouTube. Three more days to adventure unto the depths of the Inverted Spiral with all of your Destiny buddies. Three days to practice in the Crucible and get a leg up on the competition so you can smoke some fools when the full game launches in September.

Now if you're playing on PC, try not to feel left out. The PC version of Destiny 2 will be launching on October 24, and the PC beta will be taking place next month. It's just a few weeks away, so keep those chins up, Guardians. You'll be shooting and sliding with the rest of us soon! Oh, and don't worry, I'll also be participating in the PC beta and I'll be ready to personally pop that chin up with a few rounds from my pulse rifle.

For more information about the beta, or to pre-order, check out the official site here.
